Ayrs Locker Cleanup Attempt One
Brekka Nightfire skidds to a halt in front of the two, heels digging into the den floor, "Hey .. hey now.. calm down guys" She eyes the "mess" about to unfold, "we can talk about this yah?" She says sweetly
Amara nods, appearing to relax. "Alright leader of mine. Let’s look in my locker." She walks over, promptly opening the metal door. Inside was tidy with folded clothing and bags, absent of mystery green stuff or any form of foul odor…oh a crowbar. Amara grasps the bar with both hands holding it much like one would a bat, closes the locker, and resumes the stare down. “I tried talking to him about cleaning it. Several times in fact. Tonight, the mystery locker’s contents will fuel dinner damnit!”
Endless Winter. A.Y.R (ayr.bosatsu) watches her come closer, not budging an inch. His eyes narrowed, letting out a low groan of discontent and suspicion. "..I am calm..I'm calm like a -bomb-." Hugging his locker protectively he'd look at the crowbar, shaking his head, "You..Shall not...Pass!" Lowering his voice he'd let out a fox-like murr, his voice rumbling from the effort. "My microbes shall remain untainted. People may be living in my locker and i won't let you kill them!"
Brekka Nightfire does not see any good way about this, "Well.. I think he is pretty set on keeping his locker safe--- I mean it hasn't um.... ah Killed anyone at all, right?" slapping her hands to the table, "Cause lets face it. I don't need you guys killing eachother....." then to amara, "I'd tell him to take his sacred locker home.. but he likes it here... I think its gonna take more than a crowbar to fix that" She smiles fracturedly to the pair
Amara blinked. “It has killed anyone yet ya mean….and what the hell are they doing living in your locker in the first place?! That thing need several rinses of bleach by itself.” She shifted from side to side, looking for a good angle to prop the crowbar. “Don’t make me pry you off first…” Amara grins then noticing how Ayr had himself sprawled out like that. “I wonder if you can keep that protective stance while being tickled. Or maybe a quick tazing so you can sleep. You really wanna be knocked out during the microbes’ passing?”
Endless Winter. A.Y.R (ayr.bosatsu) leans in the direction she looks to try and cover her prying eyes, "Nhhh. It won't kill anyone, it just smells. I mean, sure, I don't do my washing and there's sticky towels and stuff in there. But it's myyyy locker. Myyyy locker! I admit I did leave the Sandwhich in there to see if it'd sprout life. Same for the bugs. And the rabbit.." Letting his voice trail off he'd continue to list living creatures which he believed had found Eden in his metal box. "If you try to pry me you'll end up getting your leg touched and I'll win our challenge. Which will make you feel silly." Folding his arms he'd look to Brekka, "you better cussing stop her from attacking my life forms!"
Brekka Nightfire sighs, flopping onto the makeshit table lightly, looking up at the two with a look of disbelief and helplessness, "You two are the two most stubborn people I know.. what am I supposed to really do!" She murrowls and flips over to her side, still staring at the two like they were being a bit difficult, "Honestly, I don't see Ayr backing down.. and I want neither of you hurt--"
Amara fakes to the left before jabbing the bar into the narrow opening of the door. “They are dinner not collector’s items, now move it fox!” Considering Ayr was likely to fight back, Amara tried shoving him in the same direction she was pulling the bar. “It reeks! God knows what you’ve grown in there! A locker is for storing semi cleaned clothes not mold and microbial lifeforms. If ya want to sprout life, I can find you a sea monkey kit!” She didn’t give a damn about him poking her leg right now. Hell if he bent over, she could push him out of the way better.
Endless Winter. A.Y.R (ayr.bosatsu) "Robotic arm a go-go!" Extending his hand he'd try and grab a hold of the crowbar to stop her wrenching open his locker, hanging onto it to pull himself back towards her as his other hand extended for her leg to win the challenge, "No more sea monkey kits! They're a lie! There's no monkeys, no primates. AHHH---! My lifeforms!" Forgetting about going for her leg he'd simply try to sling his arm about her and drag the lass away, "My poor creatures! Do not worry, Ayr fights for your souls!"
Brekka Nightfire scrambles over the table, "you two!" She squeals, "stop it!" She flops over, stands up straight and eyes the two like the mother that should have been just about the corner, "you two need to make a comprimise-- or you're gonna keep on at eachothers throats!" She exlaims
Amara was stuck contorting her body to do two things – use her right arm to move Ayr’s away while t
Holi greetings 2011/Gujia Recipe
Holi is a Hindu religious festival. It marks the arrival of spring, so it is celebrated during the month of march. As per Hindu calender it falls on Phalgun Purnima which comes in February end or early March. As many other Indian traditional festivals it is also celebrated to please the gods for good harvest and fertility of land. It is also time for spring harvest in india. It is famous for bonfire, throwing colors and mouthwatering food. It is observed by hindu community all over the world. In West Bengal and Orissa of India it is known as Dolyatra (Doul Jatra) (Bengali: ?????????), or Basanta-Utsav ("spring festival")(Bengali: ?????????). The most popular story associated with this festival is the one with Prince Prahlad a strong devotee of Lord Vishnu. It is also associated with the everlasting love of Radha and Krishna.
Major days or activites: Dhuli Vadana: Throwing colors at each other.
Bonfire lit : Little Holi: Holi ka Dahan or kama Dhanam, the story says, Prince Prahalad was carried to fire by Holika to destroy him but he escaped from the fire because of Lord Vishnu"s Blessings.
As mentioned earlier it is a festival of food( like all the other Indian festivals) and the sweet you can see here in the first picture is called Gujia. One of the main sweets of Holi. A pretty simple and sweet snack. The chemistry behind this is simple make a pastry base, fill that with sugar+dry fruit and fry it. Well the traditional recipe is an elaborate version of this with some must need elements.
As some one away from home I don"t have access to all the essential elements,so my gujia is a bit different from the traditional version. But it taste the same.
Here we go:
For 10 Gujia
Maida/all purpose flour: 1 cup.
Khoya/,mava(or burnt milk):(which I avoided: essential element of traditional recipe)=1/2 cup or
Condensed milk=1 table spoon(I used: not an element of traditional recipe).
Clarified butter= 3 Table spoon.
Ghee or oil= For frying.
Powdered sugar=1/2 cup
Jagari (crushed)=4 Tablespoon.
Mixed dry fruits(crushed)=3 Tablespoon.
Roasted suji=1 Table spoon.
Dedicated coconut=1 table spoon.
1.Combine the flour with ghee/oil,bit sugar and pinch of salt using your fingers.
2.Make soft dough and knead it lightly. Add water if needed. Cover with a damp cloth and leave aside for half an hour.
3. In a frying pan fry the dry fruits and turn the gas off and add suji rava +jagari + cardamom powder and mix well and make small balls(7-10) and roll it in the condensed milk Now reserve it to cool.
4.Prepare equal amount of small and thick chapati from the kneaded dough.
5.Stuff the chappathi with our sweet balls. (keep it in the middle, fold it to one side, seal the edges with bit water, roll the edges a bit using your fingers and press the edges with a fork).(or you can use a gujia mold which is available in Indian stores and markets)
5.On slow fire, deep fry this gujia till golden brown.
6.Drain and leave to cool. Our gujia is ready to be served...Enjoy it.
Happy holi again to all
